PROM!

Tuesday was a very exciting day for me because it was my grade 12 prom. I tried to upload the pictures in the order that they were taken but the up loader was placing them in a weird order and I didn't want to try to upload them all again. So sorry that they are out of order.

On Monday my friend Chloe and I went to go and get our nails done. I had my first pedicure that day and wow did I ever love the feeling. On Tuesday I had some appointments through the afternoon for my makeup and my hair.

The limo met at Jake's house at 6 so that we could get a few pictures at Jake's house because his backyard is perfect for pictures and then we would take the limo to Victoria park to get some more pictures. I have pictures that I took from inside the limo but I haven't uploaded them yet, I will have to do a different post with them later.

The guys didn't have very much fun at all taking all these pictures but they will appreciate it one day.

This was a picture taken in Jake's backyard by the one garden. All the girls were having trouble standing in the grass because our heels were sinking into the ground.

This picture was taken at Victoria park on the one bridge.

I told my mom I wanted a picture with our limo driver. He told me no one has ever asked for a picture with him and he was very happy to take one for me

I had a really fun night that I don't think I will ever forget:D

NSD Crop!

Today Dianne had a crop that she organized for her service dog that she is raising. The crop took place in Cambridge at hall and it went from9-5. My Mom, Joanne and I attended the crop and got a bunch completed(excluding my mom).

When we got there we got all unpacked and then as we were just getting in the zone two golden retriever puppies came in and were walking around the hall. I grabbed one as soon as it started to waddle past me. My mom ended up a getting a few good pictures of the puppies.

As the puppies started to wonder around to the other people in the hall I started to work on a layout. The first layout I completed is below. The pictures are of a build a bear that Jake and I made and his name is Jaker.

The second layout that I completed was of a picture of me at my semi formal. I copied a layout of a design team layout that Shelby completed but just changed up the papers. It turned out very well:)

The layout below was being retarded when I uploaded it so I'm sorry that it is turned the opposite way it was turned the right way before I uploaded it but once it uploaded it changed. Anyways, this layout is a store display that Shelby created(I really like Shelby's work). The pictures were taken by a bridge in Conestoga.

This layout was also copied from a store display that guess who made:) Shelby! The picture was taken at the cottage that our family rented this past summer.

As everyone was working away on layouts and stuff. Dianne had a table where we could buy raffle tickets to put into the prizes that we wanted to win. As that was going on we were having draws for other prizes that she has set aside. Now I always have luck with winning things at events like this. Usually it was with a certain friend that I would always win things with but I usually have the luck to win things in draws. So when she was doing the draws sure enough my name was called and I won a little case with body lotion, bubble bath, hand soap, and bath salts. After the raffle tickets were all in we did the draw for that and sure enough don't I win two prizes from the raffle. The one prize was another bath set and then I also won a mental containers with an album, 40 pattern papers(that are actually really cute) chipboard letters, rubons, stickers, etc. Joanne and my mom weren't too impressed because they didn't win anything.

Layout Updates!

Well I haven't been posting on my blog very much at. I have wanted to but sometimes I just couldn't think of anything to write about and the things that I could write about I had photos for and didn't want to upload them at the time. Anyways, the layout below is pretty cool. The picture was taken this past summer at the cottage that our family rents.

The flowers on the layout are actually made out of tissue paper. What I did was got a 2" scalloped circle punch and punched four circles. Then I took a stamp that my mom had and stamped on the tissue paper and layered them on top of each other and put a brad in the middle.

This layout at first wasn't my favourite at first because I thought it looked very plain but as soon I got it completed it was probably one of my favourite layouts that I have done. The picture was taken when I went on my trip to Washington DC in April.

This picture was taken this year on Easter.

The one half of the layout below was copied from a store display that Shelby did. I used this layout for some pictures from the Washington trip. The first page I used page protectors that are divided into 4x6 portions and I chose to scrapbook the one section.

The first page below was also copied from a store display that Shelby made. The second page was completed like the layout above

The layout below I created by using a sketch that Joanne made that was posted on her sketch blog(click on the link and it will go to the sketch) at first I found it kind of hard to complete a layout from using a sketch but it was much easier than I thought.

One Year!

A year ago today Jake and I were standing in that same spot, at the point in Grand Bend and he asked me to maybe try a relationship with him. Well today was kind of like every other day, I got up early and showered and got ready for another boring day at school. Following school I got to spend a few hours a work and then came home.

When I got home from from work I was in a rush because I had to be somewhere for an appointment. As I came rushing into the house to quickly grab something to eat I noticed some flowers sitting on the coffee table in our family room. At first I kind of ignored them thinking that my dad might have bought my mom flowers but my mom kept looking at me funny. So I walked over to them and my mom had told me to "OPEN THE CARD" "OPEN IT" so I opened the card and inside it said Happy one year baby and then at the bottom of the card was PROM!?!

The weird thing was, Jake and I had been talking about all the different ways that everyone has been asked to prom. The other weird thing was, that I had told Jake that he has to ask me to prom otherwise I wasn't going with him.

When I got up this morning I thought it was going to be just another day but it turned out to be different:)

Happy one year Jaker:D

Day 3(at night)

For dinner that night we went to a little town called Alexandria, it was like a little St. Jacobs. It had little shops, and cute little restaurants that you could go to. Some friends and I decided to go to a little Italian place, and the food was amazing!

Once we were finished eating, the teachers gave us time to go and walk around and shop a little or we could go down by the water. So Jake and I went down to the water. It was beautiful outside! The weather was perfect that day, and it wasn't super busy down by the water either.

There was a cute little place to eat right by the water that had seafood and stuff like that. I would have loved to go there to eat but we assumed that it would have been fairly pricey.

We came across a little dock that we walked out onto and got a few photos that I thought turned out really well.

When we walked back up to the main street there was a man that was playing music on wine glasses filled with distilled water. It was really neat!

After I watched the man for a little while me and some girls went up to the one shop that had washington stuff. I ended up getting a really neat purple sweater.

After everyone was finished shopping and eating dinner we went to go and see the Lincoln Memorial. It was insane there! There were schools from all over the place.

* this was a really neat picture I thought because the sun was setting

*This is a picture of some of the girls that I hung out with down in Washington.

This was inside the Lincoln Memorial. there were so many people in there it was so hard to get good pictures.

We went to some other Memorials that night but my camera was being stuipid and wasn't turning out right while I was taking pictures so I just gave up because their wern't turning out right.

Day 3!(during the day)

Today we had to be boarding the bus by 7:45 because we had to drive back into Washington from our hotel. In the morning we went to the Arlington Cemetery.

The cemetery has the remains of about 175,000 American Soldiers and president Kennedy. The cemetery was beautiful. There were flowers in every direction you turned, the leaves were on the trees and the cemetery was kept very well. The one thing that surprised me so much, was that you could look for miles and miles and you would still see the headstones, there were that many people there.

*I took this picture when we first got into the cemetery.

* See what I mean, you can see headstones forever!

While we were walking around we ran into a ceremony that was going on for a solider that had just passed away. We walked up as it was ending but what I did end up seeing was really neat. Once we finished watching that we continued out walk we ran into this huge white building and inside were all of these rows or marble benches, it was so pretty.
I have a picture of Jake and I on this one huge chair but the person that took the picture still has to send it to me.

*me and Chloe on the one part of the building

*picture of the inside of the building

After we left there we came across this little bridge that I thought was really cute so I made Jake pose for a picture or two!

*This was the last stop at the cemetery. We stopped at Kennedy's grave. It was very unique, i the middle of the whole thing there was a fire. Beside him was his daughter and wifre. All around him were some of the rest of his family.

That afternoon we had time to go and look at some of the other Smithsonian Museums. The group that i was with wanted to go to the Natural History Museum. At first I thought it was going to be really dumb but when you when in there was a real elephant(that was stuffed & happens to be my favourite animal of all times)

Once we were in the Museum we went into the Oceans section. Inside there were all these preserved sea creatures. It was hard to take picture of some things because they were all in glass cases. So sorry if the picture don't turn out the greatest. Also I have only put up the smallest amount of what I actually took. After we looked at the ocean's creatures we traveled through the human body section(it was really boring so i didn't take any picture in that section because it was all bones and stuff) After that there was a section with all kinds of animals that have been stuffed and then brought to the museum

*I never really realized how large a giraffe actually was until Jake took a picture of me standing beside one. I am not tall at all but i'm the average height of a person and that giraffe is very fall compared to me.

*This was a picture of the octopus that I saw. In movies and stuff they always make them look so cute... and I don't think he is cute at all!

*The really neat part of the animal section was that they wern't just standing there stuffed they movied the animals into positions that made them look really real. For example; the fighting scene that the lions are having up above.
After the animal section we went to see the "hope" diamond(in picture below) and I found it really disappointing. Everyone made it seem like it was going to be some huge diamond but it wasn't as big and everyone said. The diamond section was really busy so we left there right after we took a picture of the "hope" diamond. After that there was a bug/reptile section. There were turtles, snakes, spiders, bees, ticks, beetles, etc.
One really cool part about his section was the bees that they had. They had a bunch of these bees making hoest and we all look at eachother and said where are the flowers? And then one of us noticed a tude that went from the nest to the outside an a bunch of bees were flying in and out of this tube with honey.

Most of the people we came into the museum with split up from us and our deal was that we would meet them at about two and then we would go to another museum. But about half of us were ready to just fall asleep or sit for the last two hours. But instead a bunch of us agreed to go and watched a 3D imax movie. I never was a fan for imax movies but I was willing to go and sit through one so that I didn't have to do anymore walking. The movie we went to go and see was called Wild Ocean 3D. We all thought that it was going to be about all different wildlife in the ocean but no it was about sardenes the whole time!! All of us at one point ended up falling alseep through the 45 minute movie. I was kind of bummed by the end because I paided $8.75 to have a nap.

I will hve another post on what happened on day 3 at night!
