Day 4!

Last night I attended an information night at George Brown College for the chef school! Up until last night my dream of becoming a pastry chef felt like just a dream but being in that college really opened my eyes that I can really go to school and become a pastry chef. George Brown is an amazing school. I was amazed by how excited all the students were when they were showing us around the campus. The kitchens that these students get to cook in everyday are unreal! I was told last night that they cook/bake up to 6 hours each day! I was in baking heaven!!

My sister!

About five years ago I met a girl when I started grade seven and her name was Shannon. She was just like me. She was shy when you first met her but once she warmed up to you she could talk your ear off. Shannon and I became best friends all through grade seven until March when she told me that she was going to be moving to Branford I still remember that day like it was yesterday. I couldn't believe that I met someone that I really liked being friends with and now she was going to move away forever. Shannon came home the odd time to visit her family that lived in Kitchener/Waterloo but I didn't get to see much of her.

When she moved away we promised we would write letters back and forth and we would talk over the computer as well. One other promise we made was that we would always be best friends. As we grew up our lives got busy and we didn't really talk much. I was meeting new people and so was she. She would come down to visit her family and we wouldn't hang out anymore because we were both so busy. In August Shannon texted me and told me she was moving back to Kitchener/Waterloo to live with her foster family because things weren't going so well where she lived. When she told me that I was all excited that I would get to see her but really nervous at the same time. We planned a date to hang out and when we did everything was just like before. We talked for hours about everything that had happened in the five years that we had apart. Things started going down hill at her foster house and now she is living with my family.

This is Shannon and I now! Shannon has been living with us for a week now and everything is moving smoothly. We are pretty much all settled into our bedroom. I will post pictures later of our bedroom once everything is finished. Shannon now has a family. She has come from a rough past and has never really had a place that she is able to call home or a family that she can call a family. She seems to be fitting in very well and I hope she is happy.

I have always wanted a sister and now I am able to say that I have one. Shannon welcome to our family!

Robin!

Last year I changed high schools and went to Elmira. Going there I was very nervous that I wasn't going to meet any new people because they have all been friends since they were little since it's such a small town. Last year I met a bunch of new people but not someone who I could call my best friend. This year I went back for a fifth year and I'm finished school in January. I was very nervous this year going back because I knew that almost all my friends from last year had moved onto university or college. But I have met a girl who I never thought I would have talked to and her name is Robin!

Robin is the girl on the right. We both have the same time table so we spend a bunch of time together. Robin is a very down the earth girl. She loves to be herself and doesn't really care what anyone thinks of her. She has a very unique style that I know I wouldn't be able to pull off. Now that I have met Robin I am able to say that my switch to Elmira was a good choice:) Thank you Robin for everything:)

Cupcakes!!:)

This past summer I took two cake decorating courses where I learned so much valuable information that helped me with decorating cupcakes. When i took the first course I thought that this was just something I wanted to do through the summer and once they were done then the odd time I might decorate a cake or cupcakes for a family member. But as I continued taking the courses I started to realize that it was something that I really enjoyed doing. I started out slow with decorating and to be honest I think my family and Jake thought that my work was horrible. But heck, everyone has to start out somewhere right?

By doing all of this baking I have made up my mind for after highschool. I would like to attend George Brown in Toronto to become a sugar artist/pastry chef. As of right now I'm having a blast creating and baking cupcakes for other people:)

PROM!

Tuesday was a very exciting day for me because it was my grade 12 prom. I tried to upload the pictures in the order that they were taken but the up loader was placing them in a weird order and I didn't want to try to upload them all again. So sorry that they are out of order.

On Monday my friend Chloe and I went to go and get our nails done. I had my first pedicure that day and wow did I ever love the feeling. On Tuesday I had some appointments through the afternoon for my makeup and my hair.

The limo met at Jake's house at 6 so that we could get a few pictures at Jake's house because his backyard is perfect for pictures and then we would take the limo to Victoria park to get some more pictures. I have pictures that I took from inside the limo but I haven't uploaded them yet, I will have to do a different post with them later.

The guys didn't have very much fun at all taking all these pictures but they will appreciate it one day.

This was a picture taken in Jake's backyard by the one garden. All the girls were having trouble standing in the grass because our heels were sinking into the ground.

This picture was taken at Victoria park on the one bridge.

I told my mom I wanted a picture with our limo driver. He told me no one has ever asked for a picture with him and he was very happy to take one for me

I had a really fun night that I don't think I will ever forget:D

NSD Crop!

Today Dianne had a crop that she organized for her service dog that she is raising. The crop took place in Cambridge at hall and it went from9-5. My Mom, Joanne and I attended the crop and got a bunch completed(excluding my mom).

When we got there we got all unpacked and then as we were just getting in the zone two golden retriever puppies came in and were walking around the hall. I grabbed one as soon as it started to waddle past me. My mom ended up a getting a few good pictures of the puppies.

As the puppies started to wonder around to the other people in the hall I started to work on a layout. The first layout I completed is below. The pictures are of a build a bear that Jake and I made and his name is Jaker.

The second layout that I completed was of a picture of me at my semi formal. I copied a layout of a design team layout that Shelby completed but just changed up the papers. It turned out very well:)

The layout below was being retarded when I uploaded it so I'm sorry that it is turned the opposite way it was turned the right way before I uploaded it but once it uploaded it changed. Anyways, this layout is a store display that Shelby created(I really like Shelby's work). The pictures were taken by a bridge in Conestoga.

This layout was also copied from a store display that guess who made:) Shelby! The picture was taken at the cottage that our family rented this past summer.

As everyone was working away on layouts and stuff. Dianne had a table where we could buy raffle tickets to put into the prizes that we wanted to win. As that was going on we were having draws for other prizes that she has set aside. Now I always have luck with winning things at events like this. Usually it was with a certain friend that I would always win things with but I usually have the luck to win things in draws. So when she was doing the draws sure enough my name was called and I won a little case with body lotion, bubble bath, hand soap, and bath salts. After the raffle tickets were all in we did the draw for that and sure enough don't I win two prizes from the raffle. The one prize was another bath set and then I also won a mental containers with an album, 40 pattern papers(that are actually really cute) chipboard letters, rubons, stickers, etc. Joanne and my mom weren't too impressed because they didn't win anything.

Layout Updates!

Well I haven't been posting on my blog very much at. I have wanted to but sometimes I just couldn't think of anything to write about and the things that I could write about I had photos for and didn't want to upload them at the time. Anyways, the layout below is pretty cool. The picture was taken this past summer at the cottage that our family rents.

The flowers on the layout are actually made out of tissue paper. What I did was got a 2" scalloped circle punch and punched four circles. Then I took a stamp that my mom had and stamped on the tissue paper and layered them on top of each other and put a brad in the middle.

This layout at first wasn't my favourite at first because I thought it looked very plain but as soon I got it completed it was probably one of my favourite layouts that I have done. The picture was taken when I went on my trip to Washington DC in April.

This picture was taken this year on Easter.

The one half of the layout below was copied from a store display that Shelby did. I used this layout for some pictures from the Washington trip. The first page I used page protectors that are divided into 4x6 portions and I chose to scrapbook the one section.

The first page below was also copied from a store display that Shelby made. The second page was completed like the layout above

The layout below I created by using a sketch that Joanne made that was posted on her sketch blog(click on the link and it will go to the sketch) at first I found it kind of hard to complete a layout from using a sketch but it was much easier than I thought.

One Year!

A year ago today Jake and I were standing in that same spot, at the point in Grand Bend and he asked me to maybe try a relationship with him. Well today was kind of like every other day, I got up early and showered and got ready for another boring day at school. Following school I got to spend a few hours a work and then came home.

When I got home from from work I was in a rush because I had to be somewhere for an appointment. As I came rushing into the house to quickly grab something to eat I noticed some flowers sitting on the coffee table in our family room. At first I kind of ignored them thinking that my dad might have bought my mom flowers but my mom kept looking at me funny. So I walked over to them and my mom had told me to "OPEN THE CARD" "OPEN IT" so I opened the card and inside it said Happy one year baby and then at the bottom of the card was PROM!?!

The weird thing was, Jake and I had been talking about all the different ways that everyone has been asked to prom. The other weird thing was, that I had told Jake that he has to ask me to prom otherwise I wasn't going with him.

When I got up this morning I thought it was going to be just another day but it turned out to be different:)

Happy one year Jaker:D

Day 3(at night)

For dinner that night we went to a little town called Alexandria, it was like a little St. Jacobs. It had little shops, and cute little restaurants that you could go to. Some friends and I decided to go to a little Italian place, and the food was amazing!

Once we were finished eating, the teachers gave us time to go and walk around and shop a little or we could go down by the water. So Jake and I went down to the water. It was beautiful outside! The weather was perfect that day, and it wasn't super busy down by the water either.

There was a cute little place to eat right by the water that had seafood and stuff like that. I would have loved to go there to eat but we assumed that it would have been fairly pricey.

We came across a little dock that we walked out onto and got a few photos that I thought turned out really well.

When we walked back up to the main street there was a man that was playing music on wine glasses filled with distilled water. It was really neat!

After I watched the man for a little while me and some girls went up to the one shop that had washington stuff. I ended up getting a really neat purple sweater.

After everyone was finished shopping and eating dinner we went to go and see the Lincoln Memorial. It was insane there! There were schools from all over the place.

* this was a really neat picture I thought because the sun was setting

*This is a picture of some of the girls that I hung out with down in Washington.

This was inside the Lincoln Memorial. there were so many people in there it was so hard to get good pictures.

We went to some other Memorials that night but my camera was being stuipid and wasn't turning out right while I was taking pictures so I just gave up because their wern't turning out right.
